A LinkedIn Article is LinkedIn's long-form format: its own page with a
headline, a cover image, and a formatted body. Mark handles it like any other
post up to approval: you draft it, run the content checks, send it for review,
and give it a time on the calendar.

LinkedIn has no way for an app to publish an Article, so Mark doesn't post it.
At its time you copy it into LinkedIn, publish it there, and paste its link
back into Mark. Mark reminds you when that time comes.

## Draft an Article

1. Go to **Content** > **Posts**, select **New post**, and pick
**LinkedIn Article** as the channel. It needs no connected account.
2. Add a cover with **Add cover** if you want one. It shows wide above the
 headline.
3. Write the headline in **Title**. It's required, up to 150 characters.
4. Write the body. It's a formatted editor, like a blog post: headings, lists,
bold, and links all carry over to LinkedIn.
5. Pick **When it goes out**. A time from the channel's posting slots works
the same as for any channel.

The body can be up to 110,000 characters, and the counter under it shows
words. Aim for 800 to 1,200 words on one topic. A short summary near the top
and headings written as the questions your buyers ask make an Article easier
for readers and AI answer engines to quote.

The [content checks](/content-checks) run on an Article as on any post. The
readiness checklist needs body text and a title before review.

## Review and approve

Submit the Article for review and approve it as you would any post. See
[Review and approve posts](/review-and-approve-posts). The channel's approval
rules on **Presence** > **Channels** apply to it.

Approving doesn't publish it. An approved Article reads **Publish by hand**
until its time, then **Publish now** once that time has passed. It stays
approved, not missed, until you record it as published.

## Publish it on LinkedIn

When it's time, open the Article's review page. The **Publish on LinkedIn**
panel walks you through it:

1. Select **Copy title**, start a new Article on LinkedIn, and paste it as the
 headline.
2. Select **Copy body** and paste it under the headline. It copies as
formatted text, so the headings, lists, and links stay.
3. If the Article has a cover, select **Open cover**, save the image, and add
it as the Article's cover on LinkedIn.
4. Publish the Article on LinkedIn, from whichever profile or page you choose.
5. Copy the published Article's post address: on LinkedIn, open the
Article's post, select **…** > **Embed this post**, and copy the address
from the embed code. Paste it into the panel and select **Published**.

The post address is a `linkedin.com` link starting with `https://` that
contains `urn:li:share:` or `urn:li:ugcPost:`, like
`https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:ugcPost:7518698639439978496`.
Mark needs that post ID to read the Article's metrics. The Article's own
`linkedin.com/pulse/…` address doesn't have one, so Mark refuses it. If the
address doesn't fit, the panel says why under the field and the Article stays
approved.
Once recorded, the Article reads **Published**, the panel goes away, and
**View live post** opens it on LinkedIn.

## Metrics

One day and seven days after you record an Article as published, Mark reads
its impressions, reactions, comments, and shares from LinkedIn. They count
toward content performance like any post's, and an AI agent reads them with
`get_content_performance`.

Mark reads them through the LinkedIn page connected on **Presence** >
**Channels**, so they come through for an Article published from that page,
not from a personal profile. Mark finds the Article by the post ID in the
address you recorded. The days count from when you record it, so record it
soon after it goes live.

## The reminder email

When an approved Article's time comes, Mark emails every workspace admin
and the member who submitted it: **Publish this LinkedIn Article now**,
with the Article's title and time. **Open copy panel** goes straight to the panel. Mark sends it
once for each time the Article is scheduled. If you move the Article to a
later time and approve it again, the email comes again at the new time.

A workspace with approval emails turned off gets no reminder. The
**Publish now** label still shows on the review page, **Posts**, and the
**Calendar**.

In other emails that show the Article, like the approval digest and the
weekly brief, its card has a **Publish manually** label next to the channel.

## AI agents

An AI agent can draft, check, and submit an Article with `save_post`,
`check_draft`, and `submit_post` on the `linkedin_article` channel. It reads
the Article's state from `handoff` (`publish_by_hand` or `publish_now`) on
`get_post`, `search_posts`, and `get_calendar`. Once you've published the
Article on LinkedIn, the agent can record its link with
`record_post_published`. See the [Tool reference](/tool-reference).
