An idea is something worth making content about, before any post exists.
One idea can feed many posts across channels. Mark doesn't close an idea for
you: it stays open until someone archives it, however many posts it has.

Open ideas from the sidebar: **Content** > **Ideas**.

## The three tabs

* **Active**: every idea that isn't archived. This is where Ideas opens.
* **No posts yet**: active ideas that no post is linked to.
* **Archived**: ideas someone archived.

Each tab shows how many ideas it has. Use **Pillar** to narrow every tab to
one pillar. On a phone, select **Filters** to open it.

On **Active** and **No posts yet**, each row shows the **Idea** with the
start of its brief, its **Pillar** and **Angle**, its **Posts** counted by
stage (like "2 draft" and "1 published"), and when its last post was
published. Approved and scheduled posts count together as scheduled. On a
phone, only the idea, its posts and the row menu show.

On **Archived**, each row shows an **Outcome**: **Covered** when the idea
has at least one published post, **Dropped** when it has none.

## Add an idea

1. Select **New idea**.
2. Enter a **Title**.
3. Optional: write a **Brief**: the goal, who it's for, the key points and
 the call to action.
4. Optional: pick a **Pillar and angle**. Pick **Pillar only** under a
pillar, or one of its angles. An angle brings its pillar and persona.
5. Optional: pick the one **Buyer question** the idea answers.
6. Select **Save idea**.

Your AI agent can add ideas for you too, with the `save_idea` tool. See the
[Tool reference](/tool-reference).

## Draft a post from an idea

1. Select the idea's row, or open its menu (**…**) and select **Draft
 post…**.
2. Under **Draft post**, pick a **Channel**. The list shows the channels
your workspace has set up under **Presence** > **Channels**.
3. Select **Draft post**. The new post opens in the editor.

The draft is linked to the idea and takes its pillar and angle. A website
post (blog, FAQ, competitor or landing page) takes the pillar and persona but no
angle, and answers the idea's buyer question while that question is active.
The body starts with the idea's title and brief, for you to replace. If
the two together are over the channel's limit, like X's 280 characters, the
body starts with the title only.

The post is a draft like any other. It goes out only after it's submitted
and approved. See [Create and submit a post](/create-and-submit-a-post).

## Link a post you already have

In the post editor, pick the idea under **Organize** > **Idea**. Pick **No
idea** to unlink it. Select **Save draft** to keep the change. Linking or
unlinking doesn't change the post's pillar or angle.

The list offers active ideas. A post already linked to an archived idea
keeps showing it.

## Edit or archive an idea

Select an idea's row to open it. Change its fields and select **Save idea**.
The same panel lists the idea's posts, each with its channel, title and
status. Select one to open it.

**Archive** is how you close an idea. Archiving moves it to **Archived** and
doesn't change any of its posts. An archived idea has no **Draft post**;
select **Unarchive** to move it back to **Active**. Both are also in the
row menu.

A pillar, persona or angle that an idea uses can't be deleted. The message
names the ideas that use it. Change their pillar and angle first, or
deactivate it instead.
